Auditor's Office

The 2022 Reappraisal of all property in Monroe County has been completed, and proposed values have been sent to the Department of Taxation for approval. All values can be viewed on the Auditor's Office page on the Monroe County Ohio website at Due to ongoing road construction in Woodsfield, which has limited the parking available, and the fact that the Courthouse elevator is temporarily out of service, we are recommending that everyone who can do so look at their property records online, and call us at 740-472-0873 with any questions. We cannot estimate what taxes for the 2022 tax year will be at this time. All levy voting results from yesterday's election will have to be compiled and processed by the Department of Taxation before new tax rates  are sent to us.

Please remember that the Ohio Revised Code requires that any new construction (including remodeling) must be reported to the Auditor's Office within sixty days of the start of construction. You can find the proper forms for reporting on the the Commonly Used Forms page, under Real Estate.

Any buildings removed during the 2022 calendar year must be reported by the end of the year for an adjustment to be made to the 2022 property value. The form for reporting destroyed buildings can also be found on the Commonly Used Forms page.

The Auditor's Office strives to be as fair and accurate as possible when appraising property. Timely reporting of any buildings added or removed helps us to achieve that goal.
