The Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) grant has been used to strengthen Monroe County Health Department's infrastructure and increase their ability to respond to public health incidents since 2004. Plans which have been developed are routinely reviewed and revised and are exercised on a regular basis by public health staff and partners.
Through grant funding, we purchased and stocked an emergency response trailer that will allow us to quickly respond to a public health incident. We also acquired a 20 bed portable morgue unit through other grant funding - further preparing us for any untimely, unfortunate, large-scale disaster.
