Ground breaking occurred October 11, 1989. In 1989, the Community Park Board of Beallsville approached the Monroe County Park District with plans and support funding in order to create a park in Beallsville. The Monroe County Park District combined State of Ohio Capitol funding dollars with the Beallsville funding and purchased 66 acres of land from Robert Wain. The first phase of the project consisted of the access road, athletic fields and the shelter house. Phase two saw the development of the restrooms and the play ground. Our baseball and football fields are well kept and heavily used during the summer and fall months. Recently, two hiking trails were created through the wooded section of the park below the baseball field. Family Reunions and picnicking are very popular events at the shelter house location. The shelter location takes in an expansive view to the North and users would be well advised to reserve this popular site well in advance.
