Stafford Park

LOCATION: 1/4 mi. North of Stafford, OH State Route 145
SIZE: 2.66 Acres
ACTIVITIES: picnic shelter house and primitive restrooms
UTILITIES: Shelter house — Elect, water available from a manual pump

The property was acquired by the Park District when the park was abandoned by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Giant White Oak trees give this Park a unique reverence, lending enormously to an enjoyable picnic lunch at the shelter house. During the summer of 1997, the Park District paved the roadway through the park. In the fall of 1999, the Park District added electricity to the shelter. Years ago, the park was used as a gathering place for musicians and storytellers. A natural amphitheater attracted visitors to this location for song and dance, long before automobiles became a reality. This location is one of the few restroom stops between Lewisville and Marietta.
