Black Walnut Festival

Monroe County Fairgrounds, Woodsfield

This logging festival is held on the second weekend in October at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Cheer on the winners at a lumberjack contest, skidder contest, and horseshoe tournament and banjo and fiddle contest. Also included are an antique auction, antique tractor pull, judging of the largest walnut log contest, knuckle boom contest, lawn and garden tractor pull, antique/classic car show, kiddie pedal pull, nail driving contest, and saw and corn grinder demonstrations. Antique tractors, steam engines, equipment, antiques, craft and quilts will be displayed, while homemade apple buffer will be made on the open fire. Church service on Sunday. Saturday 8 a.m. —8 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. —5 p.m. $3. $5 for two days.  See the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce website for more information.
